Images of a Decade

Derby County players celebrated winning their first ever Football League Championship with an impromptu jam session at Calla Millor in Spain in 1972.

The ill-fated Advanced Passenger Train, built by BREL in Derby. The train was designed to tilt so that it could go round bends faster than conventional trains but was beset with technical problems.

The Assembly Rooms, on the opposite side of the Market Place in Derby were rebuilt in 1977, replacing the 18th century building which was gutted by fire in 1963.

Charlie George was the Rams player of the year in 1975-76 in his first season with the club after scoring a hat-trick against Real Madrid in a European Cup match.
