Derby Boys' Grammar School

Derby School had a continuous history of education over eight centuries. For most of that time it was a grammar school for boys.

The school became co-educational and comprehensive in 1974 and was closed in 1989. In 1994 an independent grammar school called Derby Grammar School for Boys in Littleover was founded.

Derby Grammar School was based at St Helen's House in King Street between 1863 and 1966 The school badge and its Latin motto - 'Life without Learning is Death The archaic geography room at St. Helen's House
