Derby County - Great On Paper but Absolutely Worthless
The fashion for creating celebrity banknotes, many of which are offered for sale on the internet, has finally embraced Derby County.
The Rams and England star Steve Bloomer (1874-1938) features on a £20 note. Likewise his Derby County and England colleague John Goodall (1863-1942).
But Derby's legendary manager Brian Clough (1935-2004) - who always valued himself pretty highly - is worth a mere tenner!
Of course none of the mock notes are worth anything like their face value - just a pound or so as novelty items - and are most definitely not 'legal tender'. Each is printed on only one side as it is illegal to make even celebrity banknotes which show a double-sided image.
No reports have yet come in suggesting that any of the notes have been successfully tendered as real hard cash!
