Grave Matters - Who is buried where in Derbyshire?

(Redirected from Grave Matters)
Jump to: navigation, search

Due to the huge increase in the number of people now researching their family history, it has become a familiar sight to find lone figures wandering around graveyards in search of the final resting place of someone they are interested in.

One of the sidelines of this (some would say slightly macabre!) hobby is that interesting graves are coming to light with more regularity.

It is with that in mind that the GRAVE MATTERS project is brought to this site, the aim being to record either 'celebrity' or particularly unusual and interesting graves that exist in Derbyshire.

So if you know where someone 'famous' is buried in the county why not share the information here? Just add the name to the list on this page, stating the grave's location, and then create a short new page for the subject in the famous residents section.

If you have a photo of the grave and subject, then so much the better - just upload them to the picture gallery and add a brief caption.

Here is the list to date: To add to it click on the 'edit' link on this page and share the details of your grave discovery!
