Idridgehay
Idridgehay is a village three miles south of Wirksworth, Derbyshire, on the B5023 Duffield to Wirksworth road. Half a century ago there was a thriving farming community which enjoyed the benefit of a train service to Derby as well as a cinema. The farms have disappeared, having been turned into country homes, and the railway has also gone - it was closed in 1948. But the village is still served by a bus, a post office and a pub, The Black Swan. There is also a manor house built in the 19th century.
