Inglefield Road, Ilkeston - then and now
Neighbours watch as firemen and building experts examine the wreckage caused by Luftwaffe bombs in Inglefield Road, Ilkeston, following a raid in September 1940.
Considering the extent of the damage – in one instance, the entire corner of the house demolished – it is amazing that the houses are still there today.
But, as can be seen in the 2008 picture above, they were all completely restored to their original state.
