Kevin Reardon Lloyd (28 March 1949 - 2 May 1998) was born in Derby and his brother was the journalist Terry Lloyd.

He trained at East 15 Acting School, London, and was probably best-known for his part of DC Alfred "Tosh" Lines in Thames Television's The Bill.

Before landing his role in The Bill, Kevin had already played a number of high-profile TV roles. He was nightclub owner, Don Watkins, in Coronation Street and also appeared in Boon, Minder, Z-Cars, Andy Capp, Auf Wiedersehen, Pet, and Casualty.

In the 1980s The Bill won the award for "Best TV Drama" at the National Television Awards and it was Lloyd who collected it on behalf of the cast and crew.

He played "Tosh" continuously from 1988 until he was sacked from The Bill in 1998 for his lack of punctuality and failing to learn his lines as a result of alcohol-related illness.

Within days, he was admitted to a clinic in Rolleston-on-Dove, near Burton-on-Trent, but died there after just one week after his dismissal from The Bill.

Kevin's son, James Lloyd, is also an actor who also appeared on The Bill between 2004 and 2005.
