Nottingham Road, Derby - then and now

- History
There are few major changes in this view of Nottingham Road, Derby, heading out of the city towards Chaddesden and the Nottingham Road Cemetery. The row of Victorian terraced houses on the left of the above picture have seen a few additions, modern windows and doors. The old gas lamp by the houses has been replaced by its modern, electric equivalent and other tell-tale signs of modern communications, telephone wires and TV aerials, to be found in the modern-day picture above, are conspicuously absent in the earlier scene. Cars have also replaced the horse-drawn cab and tram. Below is the scene as it appeared in 2007.
