Stanton Ironworks
The ironworks was one of the leading factories in the country for more than 150 years, employing 12,000 people in its heyday. The company’s workforce manufactured parts of the London Underground, Dartford Tunnel, Mersey Tunnel and Channel Tunnel. It was also a vital producer of artillery shells in both world wars.
