Swadlincote Market Place and Town Hall - then and now

The 1933 photograph of Swadlincote market place, left, shows a scene which has not changed much over the years.
The town hall has been given a facelift and the old entrance appears to have been replaced by an arched porch. The clock also looks new.
The pub next door looks essentially the same. It has even kept its chimneys.
The open aspect of the market place has been retained and enhanced with new paving – and is still used for its traditional purpose.
