Talk:Brownsword's: Derby watchmakers crafted beautiful silver timepieces
This article is of great interest to me as Peter Brownsword is my ggg grandfather. Research in censuses informed of his occupation but I was not aware of the beauty of his workmanship until I found this article a few days ago. For that I am indebted to Mr Craven. The article addresses Peter's family, "...and they had two daughters and three sons..." Well, Peter and Ellen Bates had thirteen children of which several died in childhood. Sons John and Thomas were also in the watch and clock business and son William was at least a "jeweller". I would like to share details concerning this family with anyone interested.
