A great article on Joe Payne. However the house he lived at was not in the car park of the miners arms. Another house has now been built on the site a couple of doors away. Though it is true that there was a great celebration in the miners arms a few weeks after the ten goal achievement. My dad has a photo of Joe with the match ball on his knee surrounded by all the local residents in the miners arms. Joe Payne was my great uncle.
