Town Street and Wirksworth Road, Duffield - then and now

Jump to: navigation, search

The photograph on the left shows the former Co-operative store at the junction of Town Street and Wirksworth Road, Duffield, on January 29, 1968, just before it was demolished to widen the road. According to the sign over the window, the Co-operative Society was established in 1850.

A Millennium memorial garden has since been created on the site, opened by the Duffield Community Association.

Do you remember the old Co-op? Did you work there? Did you move to the new Co-op across the road? Why not add your memories below?
