A local Derby historian has unearthed what is believed to be the oldest ever photograph of an England football team - and you can see it here on You and Yesterday.

The picture, dating back to 1876, was discovered by Peter Seddon as he scanned microfilm files of an old Derbyshire newspaper at the city's Local Studies Library. It can be viewed at England Football Team - World Exclusive Picture!

The Football Association has described the photograph as a "major find" and confirmed that it pre-dates the previous earliest known images of England football teams. It was taken shortly before England played Scotland in Glasgow in March 1876.
